Reviews of Rick's 2nd feature, which premiered at the Montreal Film
Festival in 1995 spoke of the film (THE STRANGE BLUES OF COWBOY RED,80
minutes,16mm) like this: "STRANGE BLUES plays like an evocative Lyle Lovett
tune... Director Rick Raxlen has taken the esoteric high road...probably
more a poet than a filmmaker...he deftly uses the movie medium to express
his unique world view and indulge in a little fantasy at the same time."
(Bill Brownstein,The Montreal Gazette)
If you like Roy Rogers and cowboy poetry, you probably would enjoy this
film.
Good luck to you on all your "projects" may the god of projects shine
bright from your dashboard!
